Job Title: Estimator - Fit Out
Location: Wigan, UK
Salary: £45,000 - £64,000 per annum (all-inclusive, depending on experience)
Reports To: Pre-Construction Manager & Senior Estimator
About the Role
Our client, a well-established fit-out company based in Wigan, is seeking a highly experienced Estimator to join their team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Pre-Construction Manager and Senior Estimator, providing critical support that allows the Senior Estimator to focus on strategic projects.
This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role within a small, focused team, ideal for someone looking to make a real impact from day one.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare accurate and comprehensive estimates for fit-out projects, typically ranging from £500k-£750k, with occasional schemes exceeding £2.5m.
• Take ownership of the estimating process, including reviewing designs, producing cost plans, and managing tender submissions.
• Collaborate closely with the Pre-Con Manager, Senior Estimator, and existing team of 2 assistants to ensure timely and accurate estimations.
• Provide insight and recommendations that add value to project planning and decision-making.
• Work across all aspects of estimating, including labour, materials, subcontractor packages, and joinery costs (supported by an in-house workshop).
• Contribute positively to the company culture and team dynamics, supporting the broader business.
Requirements
• Proven experience in fit-out estimating (3-4 years minimum if junior, more for senior roles).
• Strong knowledge across all areas of estimating; capable of stepping in immediately without supervision or training.
• Demonstrable experience handling projects of £500k+ and comfort with schemes exceeding £2.5m.
• Ability to work autonomously while being a collaborative team player.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to mold processes and support team growth, not just produce numbers.
• Organised, detail-oriented, and able to deliver under tight deadlines.
What's on Offer
• Competitive salary up to £64k per annum all-inclusive for highly experienced candidates.
• Opportunity to make a tangible impact in a growing, well-resourced company.
• Exposure to a variety of high-value fit-out projects.
• Join a small, agile team with a strong company culture and collaborative environment.
