The Team

The Research Office offers central professional support to all academic staff and postgraduate researchers in the university.  You will be working in a small friendly team of research officers and academic staff. 

The Role

The post holder will support the University’s submission to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2029 which is the assessment of the quality of research in the UK. The role will focus on the administrative preparations for REF and to advise on REF guidance.

The Research Officer will be responsible for the ongoing development and delivery of REF, working closely with researchers to compile the submission, assist with, data collection of all sections of REF and drafting the environment statements as well as to be an authoritative source of support on the guidance for REF.

Required skills and experience

In addition to the required skills and experience on the job description, the successful candidate will have a passion for research and in particular supporting our staff with excellent customer service. Prior knowledge of the REF would be beneficial but not essential.
