Summary

This post represents an exciting opportunity for an individual to join the team of staff at Keele University Sport Centre. The prime function of the Sport Centre is to promote health and wellbeing by providing excellent sport and exercise opportunities for our Students, Staff and Local community.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of the gym and deliver associated activities for both groups and individuals. To advise customers on the safe use of exercise equipment, recommend safe and effective training programs and deliver excellent customer service. In addition, the post holder will be required to act as an assistant to the duty manager and cover as and when required.

Candidates will have GCSE’s in Maths and English (or equivalent), a fitness qualification (CIMSPA Level 2 or equivalent) and hold or be prepared to work towards a first aid at work qualification.

Excellent communication skills and IT skills are essential as well as the ability to work as part of a team, setting priorities while undertaking safe working practices. A broad understanding of sport and current good practice guidelines is also essential.
