Salary: £14.15 per hour
Hours: Contract options for 22 hours (2 nights), 33 hours (3 shifts) or 44 hours (4 shifts) including alternate weekend working
Shifts: 8pm-8am
Join a caring, supportive team at Parklands Care Home, part of Sandstone Care Group. We provide high‑quality residential and dementia care in a warm, modern, purpose‑built setting just moments from Hesketh Park.
About the Role
As a Night Care Practitioner, you’ll ensure the comfort, safety and wellbeing of our residents throughout the night, supporting a calm, restful environment while maintaining high standards of care.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing person‑centred care in line with individual care plans
Supporting residents with nighttime personal care, including continence care, repositioning and ensuring comfort
Carrying out regular welfare checks, monitoring residents’ safety, mobility and overall wellbeing
Assisting with mobility using safe moving & handling techniques and appropriate equipment
Responding promptly to call bells, ensuring reassurance and sensitive support
Promoting dignity and comfort, particularly during nighttime routines
Maintaining accurate night-time care records, including observations and changes in condition
Ensuring a calm, peaceful environment, especially for residents living with dementia
Supporting with evening and morning routines, such as settling residents to bed and assisting with early morning care
Monitoring the home environment, including infection control, cleanliness, and safety checks
Working collaboratively with the night team and escalating concerns to senior staff or nurses when needed
What We Are Looking For
If you’re a natural night owl who thrives in calm, quieter hours and enjoys providing focused, one‑to‑one support, you’ll fit right in.
We’re especially keen to hear from candidates with previous care experience, particularly in night care, dementia support, or personal care.
However, we will also consider applicants without experience if you have:
A genuine passion for helping others
A caring, patient and empathetic nature
The motivation to learn and grow in the care sector
We’re looking for reliable team players who are committed to delivering excellent, person‑centred care — whether you’ve worked nights before or are just starting your journey.
Sandstone Care Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer:
We welcome and encourage applications from all backgrounds. We embrace diversity within each service, as we think it is important that the Social Care Workforce represents the people it serves. We welcome applications from people from backgrounds including disabled candidates, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates, LGBTQ+ as well as non-binary candidates, and those with experience of mental health.
