Teacher of Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Based in Mansfield Remuneration: £32,916 - £45,352 (M1 - M6 Pay Scale) Status: Full-Time, Permanent (Term Time Only)
The MissionDo you believe that education should adapt to the student, rather than the student to the system? We are looking for a visionary SEN Teacher to join our Mansfield team. This is a role for a teacher who wants to move away from rigid, one-size-fits-all schooling and toward a relationship-based, multi-sensory approach that truly transforms lives.
Working primarily with KS3 and KS4 learners who have diagnoses of ASC, SEMH, and varied cognition/learning needs, you will be the catalyst for their academic and emotional breakthroughs.
How You Will Make a Difference-
Creative Delivery: You will lead small-group sessions, turning the curriculum into a flexible, engaging, and accessible journey for students aged 7 to 19.
-
Holistic Growth: Your success isn't just measured in grades, but in the confidence, resilience, and emotional regulation of your learners.
-
Strategic Planning: You'll design bespoke learning programmes and schemes of work that align with individual EHCPs, ensuring no child is left behind.
-
Collaboration: Working alongside a dedicated support team, you will contribute to curriculum innovation and provide detailed progress tracking to help shape the future of our provision.
You are a resilient, empathetic educator who thrives in environments where "out-of-the-box" thinking is the norm.
Essential Requirements:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
-
A Level 6 qualification in a relevant field.
-
A proven track record (or a deep, demonstrable passion) for working within SEN environments.
-
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students who may have previously struggled in mainstream settings.
-
Planning and reviewing highly personalised learning pathways.
-
Ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding and student wellbeing.
-
Maintaining accurate reporting for commissioning bodies and transition planning.
-
Actively participating in professional development to stay at the forefront of SEN best practices.
If you are ready to swap the traditional classroom for a role that prioritises connection and creativity, we want to hear from you.
