To work within a multidisciplinary team who provide a comprehensive MRI Scanning Service to the Trust

The MRI team Contributes to the delivery of outstanding patient care by:

· Providing a safe and efficient service for patients

· Acting in professional manner, showing compassion and empathy to patients

· Effective communication and teamwork skills

· Facilitate achievement of waiting time targets and emergency scans

· Responsible use of resources

Produce high quality imaging

Clinical

· To operate within MRI service to help facilitate a 7-day scanning service within MRI at Chesterfield Royal Hospital and Walton CDC.

· To train in and become proficient in all aspects of MRI scanning within CRH.

· Assist in organising and control workflow in the department in order to provide an efficient service.


· To provide a consistent high standard of radiography and to assist in supervising other staff in achieving the same in order to aid the clinicians in achieving an accurate diagnosis.

· To always provide a consistent and high standard of care and attention to patients thus maintaining the quality standards of the Trust.

· To liaise and communicate with other members of the multi-disciplinary team both within and outside the Directorate.


· To assist in the organisation of and to participate in the Directorate's Quality Assurance Programme.



Extended duties

· Undertake the administration of I.V. contrast agents in accordance with the Directorate and Trust Policies and Procedures commensurate with the grade of this post.

d) To be familiar and comply with Operational, Personnel, Health & Safety policies and procedures, including Fire, COSHH, No Smoking and Alcohol.



e) It is the responsibility of every employee to actively help the Trust prevent and control infection by washing their hands effectively, carrying out their duties in a way which minimises infection, attending appropriate training and maintaining up to date knowledge and skills in infection control and prevention as relevant to their post.
