Summary

Our client, a leading non-profit organisation based in Halifax, West Yorkshire, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Outreach Worker to join their team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for engaging with vulnerable individuals and communities, providing crucial support and connecting them with the resources they need to improve their quality of life.

As an Outreach Worker, you will be the vital link between our client and the people they serve. Your primary focus will be to identify and reach out to those in need, whether they are experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, addiction, or other social and economic barriers. You will be the friendly face and caring voice that helps these individuals navigate the complex system of support services and access the assistance they require.

A typical day in the life of an Outreach Worker may involve visiting local community centres, shelters, or public spaces to connect with those in need. You will listen to their stories, assess their unique circumstances, and develop personalised action plans to address their immediate and long-term needs. This may include connecting them with housing resources, healthcare services, job training programmes, or other relevant support services.

In addition to direct client engagement, you will also be responsible for maintaining detailed records, reporting on your activities, and collaborating with our client's wider team of social workers, case managers, and other professionals. Your keen observational skills and meticulous attention to detail will be crucial in ensuring that our client can effectively track and monitor the progress of the individuals you serve.

Salary and Location: The Outreach Worker position offers a competitive salary of £130 per day and is based in Halifax, West Yorkshire. Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in social work, community development, or a related field

- Familiarity with local community resources and social service providers in the Halifax area
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the needs of our clients
- Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle

Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in outreach or case management roles, particularly with vulnerable populations
- Knowledge of the unique challenges and barriers faced by individuals in the Halifax area
- Strong written and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information
- Proficiency in a second language, such as Urdu or Punjabi, would be an advantage
- Certification in first aid or crisis intervention training
