We are currently recruiting for an Occupational Health Technician to join a well-established occupational health provider supporting employees across a large on-site operation in Barrow-in-Furness.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone from a healthcare, emergency services, fitness, military, or medical support background who is looking to move into Occupational Health and build a long-term career within a growing healthcare sector.
Full training and support will be provided, making this a fantastic entry route into Occupational Health for candidates with transferable skills and a proactive attitude.
The Role
As an Occupational Health Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of health screening and surveillance activities in line with company procedures and clinical protocols.
Key duties will include:
Conducting baseline health assessments including height, weight, blood pressure and urinalysis
Carrying out health surveillance activities such as audiometry and lung function testing
Supporting Safety Critical Medical Assessments
Maintaining accurate occupational health records and escalating findings to clinical staff where required
Supporting drug and alcohol testing procedures in line with chain of custody requirements
Ensuring high standards of confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Assisting with general administrative and non-clinical duties within the department
