This is not a production-line role. We want a genuine craftsman — someone who knows their way around aluminium and stainless, can shape metal properly by hand, and takes real pride in producing top-quality work.
If you’ve got strong traditional fabrication skills, experience with an English wheel, and enjoy building precision components to a high standard, this is a brilliant long-term opportunity within a respected workshop environment.

The Role
Working within a skilled fabrication team, you’ll be involved in producing and reworking high-quality sheet metal components using both traditional and modern fabrication methods.
Your duties will include:• Hammer forming, dressing, and planishing panels
• Operating an English wheel to shape and smooth curved panels
• Removing creases, distortion, and imperfections from formed parts
• Working confidently with aluminium, stainless steel, and thin gauge materials
• Drilling, tapping, countersinking, fettling, and finishing components
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
• Carrying out assembly and fitting work
• Performing visual quality inspections
• Using hand tools and fabrication equipment safely and effectively
• Producing high-quality work to tight tolerances
Skills & Experience Required
✔ Proven sheet metal fabrication experience
✔ Strong traditional hand-forming skills
✔ Experience using an English wheel
✔ Skilled in hammer forming, dressing, wheeling, and panel correction
✔ Experience working with aluminium and stainless steel
✔ Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
✔ Excellent attention to detail and finish quality
✔ Confident working independently or within a skilled team
✔ Automotive, motorsport, aerospace, or precision engineering background desirable
✔ Strong work ethic and pride in workmanship
