Supporting the shift leader, managing and supporting other staff in managing a group of acutely unwell patients

We are a friendly and progressive, specialist Neuro ICU with 18 beds. Neuro ICU is part of a close-knit Adult Critical Care directorate and is situated in a modern purpose-built wing of St George’s Hospital in southwest London. We are proud to be a Major Trauma Centre, Stroke Centre and Regional Neuroscience Centre.

In Neuro ICU, we specialize in the care of patients following acquired or traumatic injury to the head and/or spine, along with those suffering from complex neurosurgical and neuromedical disorders.

Our team is diverse and inclusive and we develop staff of all levels to reach their potential, offering opportunities for rotation to other ICU areas, secondment to research and outreach teams and shift leadership as well as training and further specialist education.

"Looking for staff with a minimum of one year post critical care course (60 credits)"

St Georges Healthcare is a leading NHS Trust and one of London’s designated Major Trauma Centers. We are unique in that we operate in a large Critical Care Directorate and have three large adult Intensive Care Units on the same site; Neuro, Cardiothoracic and General. Although run as separate units, all work collaboratively across the Critical Care Directorate sharing expertise and innovations.

We encourage and support all aspects of professional development on the unit, including research, audit, study and project work. All new staff will enjoy a period of supernumerary practice during which time they can establish themselves in their new role.
