Rotations are based across the Trust’s three main sites of Leeds General Infirmary, St James Hospital and Chapel Allerton Hospital. Weekend working may be required depending on the rotation. The neurosciences team is committed to providing a high level of evidence-based care and rehabilitation. The role requires a flexible approach and the ability to manage a varied and sometimes complex workload. As a Band 6 therapist you will support the Band 7 Therapist in leading and developing the service. Part of your role will also be to provide training and supervision to junior staff and students. The Neuroscience occupational therapy team is a dynamic, supportive group of registered and unregistered occupational therapists dedicated to helping people rebuild independence and quality of life after neurological illness or injury. Working across the pathway from acute care, rehabilitation, to enable discharge to the community. The team supports patients with a wide range of complex conditions including stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and other neurological disorders. The successful candidate will receive regular support and supervision and yearly appraisal to progress your career development. Training will be in the form of joint working with experienced therapists and participation in the monthly neuro-in service training programme.
