Job Description:
We are looking for a female PA to help support two brothers with BFL Syndrome (Borjeson-Forssman-Lehmann syndrome). The role will include engaging with their hobbies and getting into the community.
Roles and Responsibilities:
This is a highly rewarding role supporting two young brothers. You will work alongside another Personal Assistant, alternating your support between both children.
The role includes accessing the community and engaging in the children’s chosen activities, such as trampolining, swimming, visiting the shops, and taking part in playtime within the home.
Whilst the Personal Assistant is permitted to smoke during working hours, this must be done outside and never in the presence of the individuals requiring support.
Required Training:
Previous experience working with young people with learning disabilities. Previous experience/knowledge using Makaton
About Me:
The individuals requiring support absolutely love going into the community and visiting places! They especially enjoy visiting the shop and picking out a sweet treat or a cake!
Hobbies and Interests:
The individuals requiring support absolutely love getting out into the community. They particularly enjoy activities such as swimming and visiting trampoline parks. In addition, the role will involve engaging in playtime activities within the home.
A Personal Assistant who is enthusiastic and able to actively participate in these activities is essential, as this will form a major part of the role.
There is one puppy within the home.
The individuals requiring support do no smoke, the PA is permitted to smoke during work hours away from the individuals requiring support.
The role is for 12 hours per week, 6 hours per child. You will be working alongside another PA.
The hours will be used on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday.
