Summary

The role
We’re looking for a compassionate and practical Animal Husbandry Technician to join our Bioservices team at the Moredun Group.

This is a hands-on role working primarily with farm livestock, requiring prior practical experience in agricultural animal care. You’ll work with a range of animals and equipment. This role offers a strong focus on learning and development, with hands-on training involving a variety of agricultural animals and machinery.



Role requirements
Providing daily care, feeding and cleaning for a range of animal species
Monitoring animal health and welfare, recognising signs of illness or distress
Maintaining clean, safe and appropriate animal accommodation
Supporting scientific procedures in line with approved protocols
Keeping accurate records and supporting high standards of biosecurity
Using and maintaining equipment and machinery (training provided)

You’ll work under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act, with full training and support provided.


Essential Requirements:
Practical experience in animal husbandry or animal care
Confidence and compassion when handling animals
A proactive approach and willingness to learn
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Full UK driving licence


Desirable Requirements:
Animal science or related qualification
Experience with multiple species
Experience in laboratory or research environments
Home Office licence
