Summary
- Salary: £13.75 per hour / £28,600 per annum
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm (40 paid hours per week, 1 hour unpaid lunch per day)
- Contract: Full-time, permanent
- Location: On-site, Mill Hill, NW7
- Overtime: Available + Weekends
- Free Daily Lunch
We're looking for a reliable, physically fit yard operative to join the team at our Mill Hill recycling facility. You'll play a hands-on role in keeping the yard running safely and efficiently; processing waste, operating equipment, and supporting vehicle loading and unloading operations day to day.
This is outdoor manual work. It's busy, physical, and varied. If you take pride in a well-run yard and aren't afraid to get stuck in, we'd like to hear from you.

Key responsibilities:
- Prepare, separate, and process incoming waste materials to specification
- Operate compaction and processing equipment safely and correctly
- Work on waste picking and sorting lines to segregate materials by type
- Load and unload collection and delivery vehicles as required
- Jet wash the yard, vehicles, and equipment to maintain hygiene and appearance standards
- Follow all health and safety procedures and wear PPE at all times
- Support the yard supervisor with day-to-day operational tasks
What we're looking for:
Essential:
- Physically fit and comfortable with sustained manual labour outdoors
- Reliable and punctual — consistent attendance is essential
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a small team
- Comfortable working around heavy plant, vehicles, and waste materials
Desirable:
- Valid UK driving licence
- Forklift truck experience (counterbalance or reach)
- Previous experience in a waste, logistics, or a yard environment
