JOB TITLE: Administrator (Prescription Services) REPORTS TO: PRACTICE MANAGER Job Summary: To undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice including the provision of clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the Practice team and including: Job Responsibilities: Production of repeat prescriptions received by telephone, email, paper, online or request in person by patients or pharmacies on patients behalf, ensuring accuracy and compliance with repeat prescription protocol. Ensure Auto-Repeat Prescriptions are issued accurately and in a timely manner, setting up and monitoring and amending as appropriate. Liaise with local pharmacies. Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team members and associated healthcare agencies and providers. Alert the Practice Manager or GPs of any problems arising from prescription requests and production. Maintain practice stock of all types of prescriptions, keep accurate records of named prescription pads received and issued and records of receipt, issue, and destruction of FP10MDA (blue scripts). Ensure records updated and prescriptions issued in accordance with Oral Contraceptive Pill Protocol. Ensure incoming post is processed effectively, clarifying, and chasing incoming post when necessary. Ensure Dossette box prescriptions are processed. Shared care agreements. DOAC/DMard bloods (booking and loading). Auditing late medication/inappropriate telephone requests. Care home monthly medication. Medication shortages/MHRA alerts. Processing new patient set ups. Booking and organising injections (Xgeva/Denosumab/B12 etc). Ensure security of data in accordance with the Data Protection Act. To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice Procedures. To work in accordance with written protocols. Any other duties commensurate with skills and responsibilities.
