Crynodeb
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support a pupil's academic, social, and emotional needs. The role requires a calm, consistent, and nurturing approach to help the pupil engage with learning, manage behaviour, and build confidence within the classroom environment.
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with ADHD and Autism.
- Implement personalised strategies to support focus, engagement, and emotional regulation.
- Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil's individual needs.
- Promote positive behaviour and support social interaction.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to support ongoing development.
- Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times.
- Experience supporting children with Autism and/or ADHD.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
- Understanding of behaviour management strategies and SEN support techniques.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
