Operational Support Officer (Court Environment) - Chester

Our client, a reputable organisation within the justice system, is hiring for a full-time temporary Operational Support Officer at Chester Crown Court. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the smooth running of court proceedings in a busy environment. The contract is initially for 3 months, with the possibility of extension, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. The hourly rate is £12.86.

This rote will primarily be Court Usher duties with admin tasks as the secondary focus.

What you'll be doing:
* Welcome and assist court users, including judiciary, legal representatives, police, and the public.
* Call parties into court, coordinate hearing schedules, and liaise with clerks and witnesses.
* Prepare courtrooms, support hearings via video link, and manage courtroom logistics.
* Provide clear information about proceedings and support users with diverse needs.
* Handle administrative tasks such as updating systems, managing correspondence, and preparing files.
* Support enforcement activities, scheduling, and judicial diary management.
* Ensure health and safety procedures are followed, including safety checks and issue logging.

What you'll bring:
* Confident, organised, and calm under pressure.
* Excellent communication skills, with a professional and empathetic approach.
* Ability to react quickly and adapt to unexpected situations.
* Strong team player with good attention to detail.
* Experience in customer service or administrative roles is desirable.
* Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.

* Comfortable working within strict procedures and guidelines.

Education & Certifications:
* No specific formal education required.
* Basic IT skills for data entry and system updates.

Additional requirements:
* Successful candidates will undergo background checks, including DBS clearance, references, and address verification.
