About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Manager to lead a small, specialist residential service supporting adults with profound learning disabilities and complex physical needs. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will drive high-quality, person-centred care while fostering a positive and empowering environment for both residents and staff.
About the Service
Our residential home supports a small number of individuals with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), many of whom have significant physical disabilities and complex health needs. The service is designed to provide a safe, nurturing, and highly personalised environment where individuals can thrive, communicate in their own way, and achieve the best possible quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strong, values-led leadership to a multidisciplinary care team
Ensure the delivery of outstanding, person-centred care and support
Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and compliance with regulatory standards
Lead on safeguarding, health & safety, and quality assurance
Manage staffing, recruitment, training, and performance
Build positive relationships with families, professionals, and external stakeholders
Maintain full compliance with CQC (or relevant regulatory body) requirements
Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the service
About You
Proven experience in managing a learning disabilities or complex care service
Strong understanding of supporting individuals with PMLD and physical disabilities
Level 4 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care or above
Sound knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding, and best practice
A compassionate, resilient, and proactive leadership style
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Passion for delivering truly person-centred care
