The Salaried GP will play a central role in delivering safe, effective and patient-centred care, while contributing to the ongoing development of the practice and wider primary care team.Core responsibilities Deliver highly effective medical care to the patient population in line with the primary care contract. Assess patients physical and psychological needs, plan appropriate care, and refer to other services or agencies in a timely manner using relevant practice and local guidelines. Prescribe safely in line with local and national guidance, review medications appropriately, and support effective medicines management. Manage long-term conditions, support anticipatory care planning, and promote healthy lifestyles and self-care. Respond appropriately to complex, urgent and emergency situations, including initiating effective emergency care where required. Complete clinical administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescriptions and associated tasks. Maintain accurate clinical records and work in line with practice policies, clinical guidance and audit recommendations. Work collaboratively across the practice, share the workload fairly, and contribute to practice meetings, clinical governance, training and quality improvement initiatives. Take delegated responsibility for one or more QOF areas and support the delivery of continuous improvement across the practice. Comply with safeguarding, appraisal, revalidation and mandatory policy requirements, while maintaining a strong commitment to self-learning and continuing professional development. Act as an integral member of both the practice team and the wider multidisciplinary network, undertaking additional duties where appropriate according to service needs.Wider responsibilities Participate fully in clinical governance processes and formal training activities that promote best practice. Provide leadership, education and support to colleagues across the multidisciplinary team where appropriate. Contribute to local initiatives that enhance service delivery and patient care.
