Credit Controller
Location: Leeds (Onsite)
Contract: 6 Month Fixed Term Contract
Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday
About the role
Search are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially aware Credit Controller to join a growing business for a 6-month fixed term contract. This is a fast-paced role where you will manage customer accounts, ensure timely collection of outstanding payments, and support the overall financial health of the business.
You will work closely with internal teams and external customers to resolve account queries, manage credit risk, and maintain strong customer relationships while delivering excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the sales ledger and oversee B2B customer accounts
- Proactively collect outstanding payments via phone, email and online systems
- Monitor aged debt and customer payment trends to reduce overdue balances
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers
- Resolve invoice disputes, pricing queries and account discrepancies
- Review customer credit limits and assess credit risk
- Produce reports on debtor performance and support month-end processes
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with credit policies
Key Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable or collections
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage customer relationships and handle disputes professionally
- Good understanding of credit control processes and financial principles
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable using Excel and finance or ERP systems
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
