This Nursery Assistant role offers the opportunity to work daily during lunchtime hours in a supportive early years setting on a long‑term basis. The Nursery Assistant will play an important role in supporting children during lunchtime routines and afternoon sessions, helping to create a calm, safe, and nurturing environment. This position is ideal for a qualified Level 2 Nursery Assistant seeking consistent hours and long‑term stability.
Duties as Nursery Assistant:
- Support children during lunchtime routines, including meals and transitions
- Supervise and engage children in a safe and nurturing manner
- Support children’s personal care and well‑being where required
- Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction
- Assist with play‑based activities and settling children after lunch
- Work collaboratively with nursery staff to maintain routines
- Ensure the environment remains clean, safe, and organised
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and early years procedures at all times
Ideal Nursery Assistant:
- Holds a Level 2 Early Years qualification (essential)
- Experience working in a nursery or early years setting
- Calm, caring, and patient approach when supporting young children
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child welfare
- Reliable and committed to daily lunchtime cover
- Able to work consistently from 11:30am to 3:30pm
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for supporting children’s early development
