Working closely with Clinical Service Leads and the Directorate Management Team, the post holder will help shape service priorities, support the delivery of business plans, and contribute to the development of pathways that improve patient experience and operational efficiency. This includes engaging with internal and external partners, supporting innovation, and ensuring that services evolve in line with Trust objectives and national standards. Professional leadership is central to the role. The consultant will help foster a supportive, high performing environment, promoting staff wellbeing, productivity, and professional growth. This includes contributing to appraisal processes, modelling effective teamworking, and ensuring that infection prevention, patient safety, and evidence based practice remain at the forefront of clinical activity. While the specific distribution of duties will be agreed through the Job Plan, the overarching expectation is that the post holder will bring clinical expertise, strategic insight, and a commitment to excellence that strengthens the specialty and enhances the care provided to patients.
