Complex Needs Teaching Assistant

Location: Chigwell, Essex
Pay: £90–£110/day (DOE)
Duration: Full-time – Mon-Fri
Start: ASAP / Flexible

Luma Education Recruitment are seeking a compassionate and resilient Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, SEMH, ADHD, PMLD, and complex learning difficulties. This role involves supporting both learning and personal care needs within a specialist education setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex needs
Support pupils with personal care where required
Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons
Promote pupils’ communication, independence, and emotional wellbeing
Help maintain a calm, safe, and positive learning environment
Support pupils with behavioural, sensory, and medical needs

Requirements:

Experience working within SEN, care, support work, or youth work settings
Comfortable supporting personal care needs
Confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and complex needs
Patient, nurturing, and proactive approach
Flexible and adaptable to different classroom environments
Enhanced DBS (on Update Service) required prior to starting
