Community Action Administrator
Location: Eastbourne (with some travel across East Sussex)
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: £27,694 – £27,944 (NJC Scale Point 10–11)
Contract: 12-month fixed term

Our client is a well-established organisation dedicated to supporting local community and voluntary groups across East Sussex. They work to strengthen the voluntary sector, promote equality of opportunity, and improve the quality of life for residents.

The Role

They are seeking a Community Action Administrator to provide essential administrative and operational support to the Data and Delivery Team and colleagues working in Community Development.

This role plays a key part in the smooth running of their services and will particularly support work connected to the Eastbourne Integrated Community Team. You will be at the heart of the organisation, helping ensure information is well managed, systems run smoothly, and colleagues and service users are supported effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

• Answering phone calls and managing shared email inboxes
• Updating, storing and retrieving digital and paper records in line with GDPR
• Publishing content on our website, including news, jobs and shared sector information
• Managing diaries, booking meetings and coordinating travel
• Preparing documents such as letters, reports and invoices, and taking meeting minutes
• Ordering office supplies and liaising with contractors and suppliers
• Providing day-to-day administrative support to colleagues across the organisation

Requirements

You’ll need to have:

• Previous administration experience within a busy office or similar environment
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential information and understand GDPR requirements
• A proactive and reliable approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable working with colleagues, partners, and service users
• Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
