Summary

To provide professional communication and marketing support to senior managers and officers that contributes towards the delivery of the Council’s corporate plan priorities.
Working across a directorate or service, own and deliver all aspects of audience-led communication activity and priority campaigns including press, marketing, digital, internal communication, photography and copywriting.
To protect and enhance the Council’s reputation through effective two-way communication with residents, business, partners and stakeholders.

Cheshire West and Chester Council is on an ambitious journey of transformation and exceptional communication is central to our success. We are strengthening our Communications team and looking for talented professionals who can help shape how we engage with residents, partners and stakeholders.
We have an exciting opportunity for a creative and enthusiastic Communications and Marketing Officer to support Children’s Services communications and engagement activity.
This role will help promote important services, campaigns and initiatives that make a real difference to children, young people and families across the borough.
You will help create engaging content across a range of channels including social media, digital platforms, campaigns, video and marketing materials, supporting both day-to-day communications and larger strategic projects.
We are looking for someone who is proactive, organised and full of ideas. You will enjoy working collaboratively, building relationships and creating engaging communications that connect with different audiences.
Our ideal candidate will:
• Have experience creating engaging communications and marketing content
• Be confident writing for different audiences and channels
• Have strong digital and social media skills
• Be highly organised and able to manage multiple projects
• Bring creativity, enthusiasm and fresh ideas to the team
• Be motivated to learn and continuously improve
