Job Title: Female Support worker

Job Purpose
I am seeking a reliable and compassionate support worker to support my 18-year-old daughter. The role is for 10 hours a week during term time and 15 hours during school holidays, ideally support would include one evening per week and the remaining hours worked on either a Saturday or Sunday, however we are flexible and hours can be discussed at the interview stage.
My daughter has CHARGE syndrome, she is visually impaired and profoundly deaf and communicates via sign language and visual supports such as pictures. Whilst knowledge of sign language would be beneficial, it is not essential.
She loves to keep busy, visit local parks and coffee shops. She has a warm and engaging personality, although she may display challenging behaviours at times particularly when feeling frustrated.
The role involves not only providing practical care and support, but also encouraging and enabling her to maintain her independence, pursue her interests and remain actively engaged in the activities she enjoys.
Main duties
Personal care:
Full support with personal care always ensuring comfort and dignity.
Support with PEG feeding as she is nil by mouth.
Appointments & community
Support is required to accompany my daughter to access the local community.
Perform any other duties that are of a reasonable request.
All training will be provided.
Person Specification:
Must be a driver
Be patient and supportive.
Be honest, reliable, and trustworthy.
Be respectful of the young ladies dignity, at all times.
Understand the need for privacy and confidentiality.
You should have a thorough understanding of personal safety.
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills and raise any concerns immediately.
A willingness to undergo any training highlighted by the employer.
Special Conditions:
A Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) and two satisfactory references are conditional for the post. This is a free and confidential process.
