We are excited to expand our existing Skills Programmes Engineering team to recruit an Assessor who has demonstrable occupational experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Technical Support Engineering.

Key aspects of the role will include:
• Management, organisation and planning of a caseload of Engineering learners
undertaking Modern Apprenticeships as well as stand-alone SVQs at varied
stages on their qualification journey to aim for successful completion whilst
ensuring contract compliance.
• Monitoring candidate progress, arranging and conducting assessments in the
workplace using a variety of assessment techniques.
• Maintaining accurate records of assessments, ensuring all documentation is
processed according to College policies and in line with internal and external
verification requirements.
• Carrying out regular workplace visits to support and assess candidates,
fostering strong relationships with both candidates and employers.
• Engaging in the standardisation of assessment evidence to ensure consistency
and quality.
• Communicating progress effectively with candidates’ line managers, while
adhering to strict deadlines and quality standards.
• Due to the sensitive nature of some of our employers, security clearance
checks will be carried out on appointment.
Applicant essentials include:
• Minimum SCQF Level 7 (e.g. HNC) qualification in Electrical Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering, Technical Support Engineering.
• Technical competence in one or more of the Engineering vocational areas as
shown above. Technical competence is deemed as having a combination of
practical skills, knowledge, and the ability to apply both, in familiar and new
situations, within a real working environment.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to engage
effectively with a diverse range of candidates and employers.
• Demonstrable experience of working towards the achievement of targets and
have experience of working on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Clean driving licence and use of own car for business purposes.
