About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Room Leader to lead a busy Toddler Room (2–3 years) within a welcoming nursery in Bromley.

This is a maternity cover position starting in July 2026, offering an excellent opportunity for a confident early years professional to take the lead in a well-established 20-place toddler room.

The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a nurturing, stimulating, and engaging environment that supports children’s learning, development, and independence during this important stage of early years education.

Key Responsibilities

As Toddler Room Leader, you will:

• Lead and support the day-to-day running of a 20-place toddler room
• Deliver high-quality care and learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework
• Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote development and independence
• Support, motivate, and work closely with room staff to maintain high standards of practice
• Monitor children’s progress and ensure observations and assessments are completed effectively
• Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates and support
• Maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all children
• Ensure safeguarding, health, safety, and nursery policies are followed at all times

Requirements

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare or above
• Previous experience working within a toddler room setting
• Experience in a senior practitioner or room leader role preferred
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS and child development for children aged 2–3 years
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• A caring, energetic, and professional approach
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
