About the team

We are recruiting a Senior Officer to join our Complaints and Investigations team. This role offers the opportunity to lead on complex casework and contribute directly to protecting standards and ensuring awarding organisations meet their regulatory obligations.

This role is being offered on a 12 month fixed term basis due to maternity cover.

What you will be doing

In this role, you will manage a varied and often complex caseload, including complaints, whistleblowing referrals, malpractice allegations, and high-profile correspondence.

You will:
• Lead and manage end-to-end investigations, making timely and evidence-based decisions in line with Ofqual’s regulatory framework
• Analyse complex and sensitive information to identify risks to qualification standards and potential breaches of our Conditions of Recognition
• Work at pace to assess and prioritise competing demands, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality
• Communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders, including explaining decisions and managing expectations
• Work collaboratively across Ofqual and with awarding organisations to influence appropriate and proportionate action
• Identify themes and emerging risks, contributing to wider organisational insight and continuous improvement
