Homelessness Support WorkerLocation: Martin House & Hatfield Road, St AlbansHours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) Salary: £26,853 per annumJoin our team at Martin House, a fast-paced 16-bed homelessness service where we support adults facing complex challenges such as trauma, mental health needs, substance misuse and barriers to independence. We work together to create a safe, respectful and inclusive environment where people feel supported, understood and empowered to move forward.The RoleYou will support 8 residents, working alongside another Support Worker who supports the other 8. Your work will include:Providing direct, person-centred support and encouraging daily living skillsHelping residents set goals and build confidenceResponding calmly and professionally to challenging situationsCompleting accurate case notes, risk assessments and support plansKeeping the building safe with regular checks and reporting repairsManaging a busy caseload and maintaining key compliance tasksYou may also occasionally visit Hatfield Road, our smaller 5-bed service, for health & safety checks.Lone working is a regular part of the role, so confidence and good decision-making are essential.About YouYou are resilient, proactive and calm under pressure, with the ability to build trust and maintain strong professional boundaries. You communicate well, work independently and collaboratively, stay organised and use IT confidently.
