Our Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school.

You will work across a range of classes and year groups as required, providing the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse mix of teachers and pupils, and engage with different curriculum levels, ensuring that your role remains varied, engaging, and rewarding.

Key Duties

• Support pupils in developing their independence, confidence, and sense of belonging, helping them to thrive both academically and socially.
• Work in partnership with teachers to deliver high-quality learning experiences, taking responsibility for agreed activities within a structured framework of supervision.
• Contribute to pupil progress across a variety of classroom settings, whether working one-to-one, with small groups, or with whole classes during teacher absence (such as PPA time or short-term cover).
• Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities that inspire and engage, while closely monitoring progress. This includes assessing, recording, and reporting on pupils’ achievements, development, and outcomes under the guidance of the class or subject teacher.
• Support effective assessment and planning by monitoring, recording, and reporting on pupil performance and progress, appropriate to the role. This includes providing timely and accurate feedback to the class teacher on pupils’ progress during learning activities.
• Organise and manage an appropriate learning environment and resources.

You will have:

• Higher Level Teaching Assistant status or Qualified Teacher Status
• Significant experience of working with children in an educational setting
• Ability to work successfully in a team
• Able to exercise discretion and judgement
• Confidentiality
• Good written and verbal communication skills
