Summary

Youth Worker

Get Set to help young people in Belfast rebuild confidence, find direction and move forward when life has knocked them off course.

About the Role

This role is about standing alongside young people who may not trust systems, services or themselves yet.

Your work helps them re-engage with learning, build resilience and take real steps towards education, training or employment.

Progress here is not abstract. It is measured in attendance, confidence, completed qualifications and next steps taken.

What This Role Is Really About

Belief matters.

Consistency matters.

Following through matters.

Some young people will arrive unsure, guarded or frustrated. Progress may start with small wins – turning up, completing a task, staying engaged for another week.

What You Will Do
  • Build trusted relationships that keep young people engaged
  • Deliver personal development, employability and accredited learning
  • Create clear, realistic action plans with each young person
  • Track progress, attendance and outcomes accurately
  • Maintain safeguarding, data and quality standards at all times
Employer / Stakeholder Element

You will contribute to local partnerships across Belfast, supporting joined-up provision and smooth learner journeys.

What Makes Someone Successful Here
  • You stay consistent even when motivation dips
  • You combine warmth with clear expectations
  • You follow through on actions and promises
  • You care about quality, safeguarding and evidence
What You Will Bring

Essential

  • Experience supporting young people facing barriers
  • Ability to engage, motivate and challenge appropriately
  • Strong organisation and record-keeping

  • Funded programme and qualification frameworks
  • Additional teaching or training qualifications
