HGV Class 2 Driver – Trade Waste PM Shift
Birmingham | £17.98 per hour | Paid Breaks | Overtime Available
Smart Solutions is currently recruiting for experienced HGV Class 2 Drivers to join a busy Trade Waste operation based from our Birmingham depot.
This is a great opportunity for drivers looking for steady afternoon shifts, paid breaks, strong hourly rates, and regular overtime opportunities with a well-established operation.
Shift Pattern
Monday to Friday
1:00pm starts until finish
Occasional Saturday overtime available
All breaks paid
Pay & Benefits
£17.98 per hour
Overtime paid at x1.25 after 40 hours
Paid breaks
Ongoing, stable work
PPE and uniform provided
Ongoing training and support
Modern fleet with advanced safety features
The Role
Safely operate HGV Class 2 Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCVs)
Carry out commercial and trade waste collections across planned routes
Collect and empty wheeled bin containers safely and efficiently
Plan routes effectively to maximise productivity
Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects in line with DVSA standards
Follow all waste duty of care regulations and company health & safety procedures
Deliver a professional and reliable service at all times
What We’re Looking For
Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence
Valid Driver CPC
Valid Digital Tachograph Card
Previous waste sector experience preferred
Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties
Reliable with strong timekeeping and a professional attitude
Safety-focused with good communication skills
