Summary

UE07: £41,064.00 - £48,822.00 Per Annum.

College of Science and Engineering / School of Informatics

Full Time – 35 hours per week – Open to part time consideration

Fixed Term Contract – 12 Months.

The School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh invites applications for a Postgraduate research associate.

Candidates must have or be near completion of a PhD degree in Computer Science or related field and a strong research track record demonstrated through publications at top-tier venues. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with strong initiative and commitment to excellence, and an ability to conduct world-class research in a team setting.



Your skills and attributes for success:

Degree in appropriate field

PhD (or near completion)

The following criteria are not yes/no factors, but questions of degree. Recruitment will aim at selecting those candidates with the best possible performance in all these criteria.

Excellent research track record as demonstrated through publications at top-tier conferences or high-impact journals.

Strong experience of research in one or more of the following areas:

Wireless networking systems

5G and beyond mobile networks, including Open RAN

Machine learning for networks and systems

Systems for machine learning

Edge computing and applications

Networked systems design and experimental evaluation

Network measurement

Network security

Ability to communicate complex information clearly, orally and in writing.

Possess high level of initiative, be detail oriented and ability to effectively work in a team setting.

Preferably, experience in research student supervision and grant writing.
