Summary


The post holder will be an experienced clinician with a strong academic interest in Diabetes and Endocrinology, contributing to both clinical service delivery and the academic mission of the department. The role will comprise 5 programmed activities in clinical care within the Diabetes and Endocrinology service, including outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, multidisciplinary team working, and participation in service development and quality improvement.

In addition, the post holder will undertake 2 programmed activities dedicated to academic activity initially for the first 5 years, with the potential for extension subject to successful performance and availability of funding. This will include supporting and leading clinical research within Diabetes and Endocrinology, contributing to the design and delivery of research studies, and contributing to the research strategy of the Trust. The appointee will be expected to foster collaborative research, contribute to grant applications and publications, and support the translation of research findings into clinical practice while maintaining high standards of patient care and professional practice.
