We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join a dynamic and expanding metals manufacturing operation based in Oldbury.
This hands-on supervisory position is ideal for a candidate with a solid production background in the metals sector, who can lead by example, oversee shop floor activities, and ensure production targets are met safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise daily production operations on the shop floor
• Manage and allocate workloads to production staff effectively
• Ensure production targets and deadlines are consistently achieved
• Monitor quality standards to guarantee products meet specifications
• Maintain health & safety compliance across the production area
• Collaborate with management on production schedules and priorities
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements
• Support the training and development of production operatives
• Ensure correct operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment
• Complete production documentation and reporting accurately
Requirements
• Previous experience in a Production Supervisor role
• Essential experience within the metals industry
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing and production processes
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
• Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
• Health & safety focused approach
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
• Effective communication skills
Desirable
• Experience with sheet metal, steel, aluminium, or fabrication environments
• Forklift licence or relevant manufacturing certifications
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
