This Reception Year Teacher role offers a full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing opportunity starting in September 2026. The Reception Year Teacher will play a key role in delivering high-quality early years education, supporting children’s learning, development, and well-being at a vital stage of their school journey. This role is ideal for a committed Reception Year Teacher who enjoys creating engaging, child-centred learning experiences within a supportive school environment.
Duties as Reception Year Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment
- Support children’s development across communication, language, social, and early learning skills
- Use observation and assessment to monitor progress and inform next steps
- Promote positive behaviour, routines, and independence
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and early years staff
- Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Support smooth transitions into and within early years provision
- Maintain accurate records of children’s progress and development
- Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
Ideal Reception Year Teacher:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching in Reception or early years settings
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
- Creative, patient, and nurturing teaching approach
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable and committed to a long-term role
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
