Support Worker

Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour (Day & Waking Night shifts)
Pay Frequency: Weekly or monthly pay available

Contract: 24 hours per week
Shift Pattern: One 12‑hour day shift (8:00am–8:00pm) and one 12‑hour waking night shift (8:00pm–8:00am), worked on separate days during the week.

We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic female Support Worker to provide 1:1 care for a bright and happy nine‑year‑old girl who lives at home with her mum and dad in Leigh. She has DiGeorge syndrome (22q11 deletion) and requires round‑the‑clock care from a consistent, understanding team.She is non‑verbal, and support workers will learn to recognise and respond to her individual communication cues. Full, specialist training will be provided.

This is a truly rewarding role supporting a child who brings warmth, joy, and a wonderful personality to those around her.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high‑quality personal care and support during day and night shifts
  • Learn and respond to her unique non‑verbal communication cues
  • Support her to enjoy her favourite activities and community outings
  • Work closely with her family and the wider support team
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and consistent environment
  • Follow personalised care plans, routines, and professional guidance

Experience & Skills

  • Experience supporting children, non‑verbal individuals, or those with complex needs is desirable but not essential
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Kind, patient, caring, reliable, and consistent in approach
  • Willingness to learn child‑specific communication methods
  • Happy to engage in sensory, creative, and play‑based activities
  • Comfortable working within a family home environment
  • Able to work effectively as part of a small, stable team
