Summary
Fernvale Primary School is looking to appoint a caring, patient and committed SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive and nurturing school community. Key Responsibilities
As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:
• Support pupils with special educational needs to access learning and participate fully in school life
• Work closely with teachers to deliver targeted learning activities and interventions
• Encourage pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
• Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual needs
• Promote positive behaviour, independence and confidence
• Help create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment
• Support pupils during classroom activities, educational visits and wider school experiences
• Work collaboratively with staff, families and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils
The successful applicant will need to complete a DBS check before commencing work and references, including that from the most recent employer, will be taken before interview.
This position is to start on Thursday 20th August 2026 and will be fixed term - full time 8.45 to 3.15 with 30 minutes for lunch (30 hours a week) Term Time + INSET Days for one year initially. £25119 - £25990 Pro Rata (Actual £17482 - £18156) Pay Award Pending from April 2026Part time will be considered for the right candidates.Closes Friday 5th June at 4.00pmInterview date is Wednesday 10th June 2026If you would like a tour of the school prior to application or interview, please contact the school office to arrange.
