1:1 Complex Needs Teaching Assistant

Location: Leeds
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Age Group: 4-16 years
Start Date: September
Salary: £19500 - £20,500 (depending on experience)

NextGen Teachers are looking for a firm, confident and experienced SEN Teaching assistant for a 1:1 complex needs student who is non-verbal. You will need to have previous experience, be extremely confident working in a 1:1 behaviour support role and have an extremely patient and caring approach.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provided dedicated 1:1 support for a non-verbal student with complex SEN needs
- Use behaviour management strategies to support emotional regulation and positive engagement
- Adapted learning activities and communication methods to meet individual student needs
- Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to support learning, wellbeing, and EHCP targets
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment at all times

What we're looking for:
- A caring, patient and resilient individual with a genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEND
- Experience working with informal / non-verbal students
- A positive, calm approach to behaviour support and emotional regulation
- Good communication skills when working with pupils, colleagues, and families
- A proactive attitude and ability to adapt to pupils' individual needs
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing
