Job Advert

Are you passionate about art, history and heritage? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a creative team delivering inspiring
exhibitions and public programmes across a unique historic setting.

We’re looking for a highly organised Programme Production Assistant to support the planning and delivery of exhibitions,
commissions and seasonal installations – from concept through to installation and beyond.

About the role

You will play a key role in supporting the planning, production and delivery of a varied programme of exhibitions and displays.
Working closely with curators, artists and external partners, you’ll help bring creative concepts to life by coordinating project
plans, schedules, budgets and key documentation, ensuring everything runs smoothly from start to finish.

You’ll organise and support project meetings, communicate with stakeholders, and liaise with contractors and suppliers to ensure
successful delivery. The role also includes hands-on involvement in the installation, maintenance and de-installation of
exhibitions, ensuring all work meets health and safety standards. Alongside this, you’ll contribute to seasonal projects,
including outdoor installations and light trails, helping to create engaging and memorable visitor experiences.

This is a fixed-term contract covering a period of maternity leave of up to 12-months, with scope for a cross over period to be
discussed with the successful candidate. You will work 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday with flexibility to meet exhibition
needs. This role is open to hybrid working, with 4 days on site and 1 day working from home. There will need to be an element of
flexibility in this depending on exhibitions and busy times of the year such as the Christmas installation.

About you

We’re looking for someone with experience in exhibition production, events or cultural project management, who brings strong
organisational skills, excellent time management and a keen attention to detail. It would be beneficial to have experience in a
museum, gallery or heritage setting with knowledge of object handling or collection care. You’ll be a confident communicator,
comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and able to build effective relationships with artists, designers and
creative teams.

You should be able to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining high
standards of delivery. A good understanding of basic budget tracking and administrative processes is important, along with
confidence using Microsoft Office tools such as Teams and Planner. You’ll also need to be adaptable, capable of working both
independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

In Return

As part of the wider Devonshire Group, owned by the Duke of Devonshire, which includes Chatsworth, Bolton Abbey, Lismore and the
Devonshire Hotels & Restaurants Group, we pride ourselves on our commitment to building friendly and efficient teams who are
focused on delivering exceptional customer service.

We are committed to ensuring the happiness and wellbeing of our staff and as such offer fantastic benefits such as a generous
holiday allowance (with opportunity to buy more) and several company benefits including a Colleague Pass for free access to
Chatsworth for you and guests plus discounts at various shops, hotels and restaurants across the Devonshire Group. Further details
of our benefits can be found at: Working at the Devonshire Group - The Devonshire Group.

Our core values include “Being Inclusive” and we particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian and Minority
Ethnic (BAME) candidates who are currently under-represented. We also welcome applicants from the LGBTQ+ community

First stage interviews will take place on 15th June 2026.

Further details regarding the responsibilities and requirements for the role can be found in the attached document.
