We are looking to recruit:
• 1 x fulltime progressed social worker to our Ellesmere Port Community Team.
Cheshire West and Chester Council has statutory responsibility to establish whether abuse has taken place, when safeguarding concerns are reported. The safeguarding unit manage all professional safeguarding across adult social care. There is a strong focus on the person concerned, the outcomes they want to achieve and how that may be achieved. The team apply professional curiosity in the narratives and facts that are presented and the ability to question information objectively to evaluate it.

We are looking for dedicated and highly motivated team players to join us as Social Workers working in line with the Care Act 2014 S.42. Our Social Workers play a critical role in supporting people to develop creative and innovative solutions to meet the outcomes they want to achieve.

You will have:
• CQSW/CSS/Diploma/Degree in Social Work or equivalent (Essential)
• Social Work England Registration (Essential)
• Be required to undertake an enhanced DBS plus Children's and Adults Barred List (Essential)
• Statutory and policy base of Social Work (Essential)
• Appreciation of recent developments in service provision.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, carers and families.
• Ability to cope positively with change and an ability to promote positive changes to make a difference.
• Awareness of importance of multi-disciplinary working and an integrated approach.
• Ability to carry out safeguarding investigations in line with legislation
• You are confident, energetic and enthusiastic as well as sensitive and resilient.
• Self-motivating individual with the passion to make a difference in adult social care.
• Resilient personal stress management.
You will be:
• Be allocated to specific safeguarding concerns and enquiries which require Social Work capability within the parameters of the Directorate’s agreed policies and procedures. Pro-actively work towards the timely resolution, recording and closure of safeguarding enquiries in line with agreed timescales and team performance frameworks.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with health professionals, private providers and voluntary sector and local referral management services to ensure the smooth transition of clients through the system. Develop effective working relationships with Adult Social Care colleagues in other teams and functions across the council, to support efficient and timely investigations.
• Communicate effectively with adults at risk and their families/ advocates, on a range of issues. Provide appropriate intervention and ensure to follow Making Safeguarding Personal in all that you do.
• You will have a good understanding of S.42 enquiries and will have knowledge of the Care Act and Nort West Safeguarding policy.
