The post will cover all aspects of the work of public health team. The service has a wide remit, covering e.g. Housing Options, Private Sector Housing and Renters Rights, Food Safety, and Community Protection.

This is a varied role responsible for core business and technical support to our front-line teams and as such you will be at the heart of what we do.

You will liaise with officers in dealing with customers and other agencies, allocate and triage service requests, and provide the full range of other business support as required. In doing so you will be a key point of contact for the teams.

An ability to prioritise effectively and be able to manage data/information and support business processes with attention to detail is essential. You should be committed to delivering excellent services and maintaining effective relationships with other officers, members and other key stakeholders/partners drawing upon good communication and interpersonal skills. Ideally you will have a full driving licence and your own transport.

You will also need the confidence to deal with sometimes challenging or difficult situations and to work effectively with other authorities and agencies. Computer literacy is essential and a working knowledge of IDOX Uniform, Integrator and Orchard Software, is desirable (though training can be provided).
