Pay: £110 per day

A specialist SEND school in Knowsley is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from September 2026.

The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and speech and communication difficulties. The setting is committed to creating a nurturing, structured, and highly supportive environment where every pupil can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Role

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, therapists, SENCOs, and support staff to provide tailored educational and emotional support throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual learning needs
- Support pupils with ASC, SEMH, and communication needs within a structured environment
- Use communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or other AAC methods
- Assist pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development
- Support the implementation of EHCPs, behaviour plans, and therapeutic strategies
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure positive outcomes for pupils

The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience supporting children or young people with ASC, SEMH, or complex additional needs
- Be calm, resilient, proactive, and nurturing in their approach
- Be confident supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
- Have full-time availability and the right to work in the UK
