Summary

Ashiyana House is a new 2 bed therapeutic children's home located in the heart of Redditch, Worcestershire. We are currently seeking Sessional (As and When) Residential Support Workers to join our vibrant and dedicated team in providing care and support to children aged 8-17 with learning disabilities, Autism and behavioural needs. The role involves supporting children in various activities within the home and local community as well as ensuring all aspects of their health and well-being needs are met. As part of the role you may also be require you to carry out personal care in accordance with care plans and risk assessments.

As a therapeutic home we place strong emphasis on creating a environment for children that promotes positive change in emotional regulation and behaviour while building secure attachment and healthy relationships. Therapeutic approaches we use are Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), PACE approach (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy) and Sensory Attachment Intervention (SAI).

Sessional staff are required to work at least 1 shift per month. This is to ensure they remain familiar with safety procedures, systems, and service standards.

This role is expected to begin in August 2026.

Role Responsibilities:

•Implement care plans for children under supervision of Deputy and Registered manager
•Implement risk assessments for children under supervision of Deputy and Registered manager
•Engage with children in activities that promote their development and well-being, indoor and in the community
•Teaching essential life skills
•Communicate effectively with children, parents, social care teams, educational settings and other professionals involved in the child's care
•Provide transportation for children as needed
•Carry out personal care, medication administration, help with taking nutrition where needed
•Help to maintain the home, supporting children with daily house chores like cooking, cleaning, gardening and taking care or pets.
•Utilise IT systems for record-keeping and communication purposes
