Hannett Hale Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a friendly, supportive primary school located in the heart of Carlisle. We are seeking an experienced KS2 Teacher to join the team full time from September 2026 to cover a maternity leave until at least October half term, with the strong possibility of extension.

About the Role
In this role, you will:
• Take full responsibility for a KS2 class, delivering high quality teaching and learning
• Be actively involved in planning, preparation and assessment
• Work closely with and support the Teaching Assistants within your classroom
• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEN
• Create a positive, engaging and well managed classroom environment
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and uphold all safeguarding and school policies
Requirements
To be considered, you must have:
• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
• Recent experience teaching in a KS2 classroom
• Strong classroom management and a proactive, flexible approach
• An understanding of SEN and how to support diverse learning needs
• Confidence in taking on the full responsibilities of a class teacher
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and progress

• Recent, relevant references
• Full safeguarding and registration checks in line with DfE guidelines
