SEN Learning Support Assistant - Secondary SEN School - Bolton
Start Date: Tuesday 2nd September 2026
Pay Rate: £100 - £115 per day
Contract: Long-term role for at least the first two terms of the academic year
Location: Bolton
We are currently recruiting for a caring, resilient and proactive SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming SEN secondary school in Bolton from the first day of the new academic year.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who require additional support within their education. You will be working closely alongside the class teacher and wider support staff team to help pupils access learning and achieve their individual targets.
The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs including:
• PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties)
• ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
• MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties)
The ideal candidate will:
• Have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN
• Be patient, adaptable and nurturing in their approach
• Work well as part of a team alongside teaching and therapy staff
• Be confident supporting pupils both inside and outside of the classroom
• Have a proactive attitude and willingness to get involved in all aspects of school life
Responsibilities will include:
• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Assisting the class teacher with learning activities and classroom management
• Encouraging communication, engagement and independence
• Supporting pupils with sensory and emotional regulation when required
• Helping to create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
This is a long-term opportunity within a supportive school that values committed and compassionate staff. The role is due to begin on 2nd September and is expected to continue for at least the first two terms of the academic year.
