The Factory Operative position would suit someone reliable, motivated, and keen to develop within a busy manufacturing environment.
Joining the production team, the Factory Operative will support a range of metalworking operations while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
This is a varied, hands-on Factory Operative role where attention to detail and the ability to follow engineering instructions are essential.
The successful Factory Operative will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out PEM serting operations using appropriate press equipment
- Operate press brake machinery to bend and form sheet metal components
- Perform counter sinking to specification and engineering drawings
- Drill and tap components accurately to required tolerances
- Interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions
- Conduct basic quality checks to ensure parts meet required standards
- Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with 5S principles
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures
Essential Skills:
- Previous experience in a sheet metal or fabrication environment
- Experience with PEM serting, press brake operation, drilling, and tapping
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of workshop health and safety practices
Desirable Experience:
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment
- Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
