Overview

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to support aircraft depth maintenance operations at RAF Valley.

This is a hands-on leadership role within a fast-paced and highly regulated aviation maintenance environment. The successful candidate will support detailed aircraft maintenance activities while providing technical leadership, supervision, and guidance to the wider engineering team.

You will play a key role in ensuring maintenance delivery targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Undertake and supervise aircraft depth maintenance and diagnostic activities

Carry out inspections, repairs, modifications, and system testing

Analyse and diagnose faults on aircraft systems and components

Support maintenance delivery against operational and programme requirements

Provide technical leadership and support to maintenance technicians

Promote best practice and a proactive maintenance culture within the team

Carry out compliance-related support activities including tooling control and oversight checks

Ensure all maintenance activities comply with approved procedures and MOE requirements

Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and regulatory compliance


Essential Skills & Experience

Previous hands-on aircraft engineering or mechanical maintenance experience

Strong engineering knowledge and fault diagnostic capability

Experience working within safety-critical or regulated maintenance environments

Ability to lead, influence, and support maintenance personnel

Strong communication, organisational, and time management skills

Commitment to high standards of safety, quality, and professional conduct

Eligible to obtain and maintain BPSS and SC Security Clearance


Qualifications

Completion of a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally Aeronautical Engineering or military equivalent

City & Guilds 2675 Aeronautical Engineering & Maintenance or NVQ Level 3 in an Aeronautical discipline

Aircraft platform training relevant to the fleet

Trade Principles training and strong IT competency
