Summary
Role: Production Supervisor
Location: Hull
Shift: Monday to Friday, 14:00 – 22:00 flexibility to start at 13:00 when required
Pay: £14.50 – £15.50 per hour (depending on experience) + overtime paid at 1.5x
Job Type: Full-time – Temporary to Permanent or Permanent for the right candidate
The Role
We are currently recruiting for a hands-on and proactive Production Supervisor to join a fast-paced food factory environment.
This position will support the Shift Manager and play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across production and packing areas. There is opportunity to step up into a more senior role when required.
Key Responsibilities
⦠Plan, organise, and supervise daily production activities to meet targets
⦠Lead and manage a small team of operatives
⦠Set up and monitor production lines to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance
⦠Work closely with internal departments such as Technical, Engineering, and Logistics
⦠Monitor performance and resolve issues quickly to minimise downtime
⦠Reduce waste and improve operational efficiency
⦠Ensure all production records and documentation are completed accurately
⦠Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and Health & Safety
⦠Support training and development of team members
⦠Communicate effectively during shift handovers
⦠Provide cover for the Shift Manager when required
About You
⦠Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Line Leader, Supervisor, or Team Leader role (food manufacturing preferred)
⦠Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach
⦠Able to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment
⦠Proactive and forward-thinking mindset
⦠Good organisational and communication skills
⦠Experience managing teams and driving performance
Desirable (not essential)
⦠Experience within food manufacturing or FMCG
⦠Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
⦠Experience supporting audits (BRC or customer audits)
⦠Experience with production or packing machinery
